5 Quotes To Inspire The New Year!

I've gathered a collection of my favorite blogs to share with you to inspire a hopeful, loving, and spiritual new year. These 5 blogs, and accompanying quotes, were chosen because they were powerful to write and carry concrete messages of support in how to bolster and cultivate a more connected and spiritual life in 2018. If you've been pondering what to work on, or goals for the new year, you can count on getting some ideas below...  I Know You Are But What Am I? The Karma of Judgment is a blog about how we, as a people, judge and separate ourselves from others. It delves into how karma really happens which is great to know as you approach a new year with hopefully less baggage. Perhaps most importantly though, this blog turns the pointed finger around to oneself to reveal unhealed aspects within. Ouch! Why this blog is powerful.  It creeps to a place of answers about how and why there is so much unrest in our society right now and it challenges you to take owners

Magic is in the Air: Fairy Spirit Guides!

Did you know that elemental spirit guides live among us? It's a wonderful time to see the joy, whimsy and wisdom of these earthly, and mythical beings. As seasons change, these guides dance and rejoice in nature's transformation so now more than ever, we can witness them. In this blog, I will explore the places and ways you can connect with them to deepen your own pathway to spirit communication. Elementals are sharp, witty, mischievous, direct, and strangely relate to humans. I have had a lot of personal experiences with fairies. I once tripped over a curb triggered by fallen leaves and scrapped the top of my foot right where my courage tattoo was. This incident happened days before I was planning to go home from a spiritual trip to navigate the ending of an intimate relationship. It was as if I could hear the fairy responsible laughing with wisdom because I had to look down at my courage tattoo, and change the band aid daily, almost forced to reflect on the meaning of my tatt

Be Grateful for Past Lives...You too (Part 2)

We meet again at the intersection of true authentic self seeing and true authentic self accepting. In Part 1 of this blog series, I shared some of my own realizations and how I've evolved to getting closer to accepting those parts of my past that are less than glamorous.  The truth is, those aspects of ourselves are the parts that bring the most lessons and therefore the ones we should cherish the most. It's such a beautiful thing to see your true self and still love every little cell. Are you up for the challenge? Sometimes getting to that place can be tricky. The process of self actualization and acceptance can sometimes be mystifying. It is definitely easier said that done and facing those darker aspects can be scary, painful and difficult. We are the authors of our own lives however, and due to that, we should know the book cover to cover. We have the ability to change the plot and rewrite the ending but the only way to do that is by knowing the characters. We can'

Be Grateful for Past Lives...I am (Part 1)

Do you know every part of yourself? I once took a hypnosis workshop geared towards revealing important past life memories. While I had a profound experience reliving some lifetimes surrounding my work in the healing arts and in bringing communities together, I also saw a lifetime reflecting some of the shadow aspects of my soul. This blog is a 2 part series about having the courage to see your soul raw, as reflected in your past lives, and to be grateful for your unique, imperfect self. Part 1 is the intimate and vulnerable account of my own awakening to this concept and part 2, will hopefully inspire yours. During this holiday season, nothing is greater than the power of acceptance and gratitude. What better gift can I give to myself, and to my son, than to love the shadows and light as one? Here's the true story of what I experienced more than 8 years ago... During a guided past life meditation, we were prompted to imagine 3 doors. We were to open each door and look ins

What Masks Are You Wearing this Halloween?

Not just a good question for Halloween, but an interesting one regarding the armor you unconsciously use to protect your authentic self. What are these masks you speak of? They are the filter, influence, and theme running inside and out of your soul expression. Masks are often archetypes , (I use these interchangeably in this article)   and they are the ways in which we act out soul lessons like an actor or actress. As "the tough cookie, " for example, we play the role of bold, and unbreakable, hanging our hat and identity on how strong we are. However, is it not important to allow fragility? And what's this tough girl hiding behind all that muscle anyway? In many cases, our archetypes represent our soul wounds, sensitivities, and areas of needed growth. They can be literal, or opposites of what they're protecting. They can also be helpful, useful, and represent the lemonade from negative experience like the "the advocate, "-who once lived voiceless and

You Can't Escape Conflict by Running: Walking the Bridge of Empathy

Sometimes the distance between souls is far, other times it's a step away. In either scenario, we must be brave enough to create, and walk, the bridge of empathy to connect with others to meet our vulnerability, and their vulnerability, with authenticity. Why? Well because relationship repair doesn't happen without this, and we don't change or heal our karmic issues without it either. Unless you are hoping to stay the same in steadfast patterns, you've got to stop running, and stretch that courage, when it comes to empathy, love, trust and forgiveness. A great travesty indeed is the presence of fear permeating in our society now more than ever. People can be incredibly defensive, guarded, selfish and afraid. These behaviors, all rooted in fear, are congruent to the wounded state of the soul experiencing them. Why do we act this way? Here are some common reasons... We protect fiercely within us that is most hurt. Our wounded child takes over, so instead of being b

Karmic Parenting: Healing Yourself and Your Child's Past Life Issues

Becoming a parent is indeed among the most joyful and challenging things you can do in life. I myself, have embarked on this journey and have made it 2 years, hopefully unscathed, from too much harm to myself and hopefully my dear son Cai. Right about this time, I have been tuning into a bolder presentation of his soul's expression. Perhaps it's the archetypal "terrible 2's" described by so many. Perhaps though, it's the beginning of a rich glimpse into his soul's unique gifts, talents, challenges and areas of growth. For example, people marvel at my son's seemingly natural ability to be fearless and independent although he demonstrates a molasses pace with speaking. While pregnant, I got an insight that he was deaf in a past life and that music and sound would be an exciting part of his future life. Upon his birth, I was relieved to learn his hearing was stellar. However, Saturn was in the 3rd House in his astrological chart, which essentially speak

What I learned About Crisis from Hurricane Irma

Sitting quietly, and sometimes not so quietly last week, I reflected nonetheless on my internal process of  bending into discomfort with the impending Hurricane in Southern Florida where I live. I intimately noticed the power and danger of the collective 'panic' energy, (perhaps a topic for another blog?) and its role in stirring the emotions of the masses. However, irrespective of that, I curled up on my closet floor with hopefulness, peace, and essential oil as the storm blew over us. Feeling spiritually and physically safe, I later realized that the process of enduring the storm itself, was not nearly as difficult as the aftermath. And that the process of internal discomfort I went through, was by far more powerful than the external chaos of wind and rain. We can feel secure in our identity when we remain comfortable in familiar roles. For example, I am comfortable giving in specific roles and receiving from only certain people and circumstances. However, a hurricane ge

I know you are but what am I?...The Karma of Judgment

I've been becoming aware of a lot of resistance energy in the collective consciousness. By resistance, I refer to separation and judgment. You may notice it in intimate partnerships such as with your significant other or in your family, in businesses or groups, or in the present political environment. It manifests itself as comparison and competition and in some extreme ways it shows up as power and control with others. Theodore Roosevelt says "comparison is the thief of joy." Indeed we rob ourselves of the opportunity and blessing of contentment by pushing up against others but what does spirit have to say about this issue? What are the soul-level connections? Most importantly, how can we work to transform this trend? I must admit prematurely, this blog may trigger you. If it does, accept it and dive into that feeling in yourself... see what is there. Karma baby. Karma is simply the energetic unresolved manifested situations, people, feelings and behavior

Getting Cozy with Transition: EEeeek!

Sitting with stillness and getting cozy with transition without frantic efforts to move from it are important moments along our path in this life. Transition is defined as "the process or period of changing from one state or condition to another."  Yet, we aren't so comfortable in sitting with the discomfort of transition are we? We seem to feel much more secure with defined plans, clear maps, and expected outcomes. We tend to like being there, much more than getting there. So much so that we sometimes force those tangible safety nets albeit rushed. If we do that, we risk aligning with an outcome that's not fully realized or worse yet, not fully true for us. By doing so, we miss out on the magical middle...the transition. Humans love to achieve, feel good, and be in charge of their lives. Ego and disdain for "undesirable" emotions drive this obsession with comfort and we've forgotten how to just be okay with the in between moments of zesty living. I w

Animal Totems: Your Spiritual Best Friends!

Animals are a fantastic way for spirit energy to find its way to people. Animals carry with them a special psychic sensitivity and support that many of us already experience in the form of companionship, inspiration, and joy. For those of us willing to go deeper, we can also learn from the spiritual messages carried by our furry, feathered, and finned friends. Each animal has a message, or theme, unique to them that we can learn from. Below are some basic answered questions about the world of animal spirit guides and 20 everyday animal messages explained. Enjoy: How do we know a specific animal totem is attempting to reach out? You will see this animal repetitively popping up in a variety of forms: you might see it, hear it, watch a commercial with the animal, dream about it, or even see a symbol of that animal on buildings or cars. I would to drive to work and see a large bird, appearing to be a hawk, on a truck that seemed to travel the highway the same time I did each day
